Getting Started with Your Snorequit
Welcome to quieter nights! This section will guide you through the simple process of using your Snorequit mouthpiece. Follow these steps for optimal comfort and effectiveness.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Find Your Size
- Snorequit comes in two sizes:
- Size 1 (minimal jaw advancement)
- Size 2 (greater jaw advancement)
- Refer to the sizing diagram below to determine the best fit for you.
Preparation
- Hold your Snorequit in a folded position with the upper tray facing upwards. The living hinge should be at the back.
Insertion
- Gently place your teeth into the respective trays. Ensure your lower jaw feels slightly forward.
Initial Adjustment
- New users may experience slight discomfort or drooling. This is normal. Try wearing it for short periods (20-30 minutes) before bedtime to adjust.
- For added comfort, you can soften the mouthpiece by soaking it in warm tap water for one minute before use.
Morning removal
- Remove the Snorequit in the morning. Clean it thoroughly following the instructions in the 'Cleaning' section.
Addressing Bite Misalignment
- You might notice a slight misalignment of your bite upon waking. This should be resolved within a few hours. Chewing sugar-free gum can help.
Managing jaw soreness
- If you experience jaw soreness, try a gentle massage: place two fingers on your jaw joints, bite down to locate the muscle, and massage in circular motions. A warm washcloth can also relieve.
- Taking occasional nights off can help your jaw adjust gradually.
- Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pain relievers can be used if needed.
- Trimming edges with small scissors and smoothing with a nail file can improve comfort.
